4948096 Do Great Things! Durham Technical Community College is hiring a Director in the Corporate Services Department. The position provides existing and prospective business and industry clients with information, training, consultation, referral, and other technical assistance to maintain, enhance, or improve their business success while working to further the mission of the college by providing customized and contract training in Durham and Orange counties. The director is responsible for developing new prospects and interacting with existing customers to increase engagement and awareness of corporate training products and/or services; oversees curriculum design and the development of new classes and/or programs; and may plan special events or training workshops designed to meet the needs of corporate clients.

Corporate Training:

Work with the Corporate Services Team to develop strategic and tactical plans, develop project proposals, and implement business and industry training programs. Collaborate with employers to assess training needs related to their organization’s goals and develop customized training curricula and instruction to meet those goals.
Actively assess programs to determine effectiveness and meet all accreditation standards as defined by the college or the accrediting agency. Recommend new program initiatives and oversee the development of new programs and courses. Maintain professional competence of training vendors and products and current training trends.
Recruit, identify, orient, and manage part-time hourly instructors and/or contracted training vendors.

Marketing and Project Management:

Promote business, workforce, and college offerings. Market and promote Corporate Services and the Customized Training Program. Conduct needs assessments with prospective clients.
Create training proposals and budgets for all training. Negotiate and develop agreements and contracts in compliance with college policies. Manage North Carolina Community Colleges Customized Training Program projects by reviewing eligibility, negotiating with business and industry clients to provide appropriate education and training; recruit qualified instructors; negotiate with instructors to provide training and establish training schedules.
Secure training facilities, equipment and materials, and coordinate registration process.
Ensure the completion of required documentation for conducting classes, such as contracts, registrations, and rosters; monitor and evaluate training.
Ensure timely reporting and compliance requirements are met.
Build long-term relationships with clients. Budget Management and Financial Accountability Provide effective management of program budgets and work closely with the college business office to ensure fiscal responsibility.
Build relationships with other community development/partner agencies to identify sources of funding for training.
Generate revenue and growth. Collaboration Develop and sustain strategic business and industry relationships.
Identify opportunities to engage industry partners with guided career pathways/programs, apprenticeship, career services, etc. Participate actively on appropriate committees and task forces and in professional associations and organizations at the campus, regional, and state level.
Work with external entities, such as federal, state, and local agencies to build capacity for educational opportunities and/or strengthen partnerships.
Represent the college with local partners, business organizations, and economic development groups. Pursue and maintain a positive, helpful, and constructive attitude and work relationship with supervisor, college staff, students, and the community. Other duties as assigned by the senior director, executive director, vice president or president. Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) required from an accredited institution
Possess a valid driver’s license

Work Experience:

Minimum three years of experience successfully planning, implementing, marketing, and evaluating corporate education/training
