Position Summary Information Position Summary The Vice President of Economic & Workforce Development is responsible for assessing community and regional workforce needs to ensure alignment with curriculum and continuing education programming offered by the college. In support of the President’s vision, the Vice President also leads relationship building initiatives with key partners in industry, government, and other sectors contributing to economic and workforce development in the region. Responsibilities Economic & Workforce Development
Develop and maintain a strategic and comprehensive economic and workforce development plan on behalf of the college.
Collaborate with the President and executive team to align, market, and continuously improve programming to ensure alignment with workforce needs.
Collaborate with curriculum leaders to design effective, immediate training solutions in the form of workshops and seminars, with an intentional focus on workforce credentials of value.
Build relationships with industry leaders to create new opportunities for the college and career pathways for students, including providing oversight of apprenticeship programs.
Communicate the college’s value to community, regional, and state partners in support of the college’s economic and workforce development priorities. Administration
Provide vision and strategic direction related to the college’s short-term workforce credential programs, customized training and development, as well as Small Business Center divisions.
Improve efficiency and functionality of direct and indirect reporting departments.
Oversee the development and management of the departmental budget, including identifying spending trends and investment opportunities.
Identify and promote the adoption of new technologies that support career readiness.
Support collegewide planning and continuous improvement initiatives, including participating in strategic planning and institutional accreditation compliance.

Serve as a part of and strategically advise various college committees.
Represent the college at local, state, and national economic and workforce development-related events.
Actively participate in professional development and training opportunities.
Perform other duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities Understanding and appreciation of the college’s mission, history, current programs, services, and goals with a specific focus on continuing education.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, employees, and community as well as state partners.
Exceptional customer service orientation, demonstrating responsiveness and a commitment to developing workforce pathways for current and future students.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including capability of conveying complex information clearly.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in data analytics to inform workforce development strategies and make evidence-based decisions in collaboration with President and executive staff.
Advanced skills in utilizing college-related software, including Office 365, and applications relevant to the role.
Advanced supervisory skills.
Ability to develop relationships with business and industry partners and effectively collaborate with the Vice President of Academic & Student Affairs to align programming with workforce needs.
Ability to anticipate needs, plan, organize, execute, and function effectively under time constraints of rapidly changing priorities. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in business administration, education, or a related field.
Minimum seven years of progressive responsibility and supervisory experience in higher education administration.
Expertise in economic and workforce development, customized training, budget management, community relations, and strategic planning. Preferred Qualifications Doctorate.
Community college experience.
