Director of Training an Development, Pressed Cafe Pressed Cafe Nashua, NH 03061 Director of Training and Development Pressed Cafe is a dynamic and rapidly expanding fast-casual restaurant group known for its vibrant atmosphere, scratch-made food, and commitment to exceptional guest experiences. With deep roots in New England and ambitious growth on the horizon, we are focused on scaling our brand while preserving the high standards and culture that define our success. We seek a strategic, operationally minded, and hands-on Director of Training and Development to lead the creation, execution, and continuous improvement of a comprehensive training and development strategy across all locations. This pivotal role will ensure consistency in service delivery, operational excellence, and a strong, engaged team culture as an integral part of the People Team. As Pressed Cafe prepares to double its number of restaurants in the coming years, the Director will play an instrumental role in building a scalable learning infrastructure, fostering internal talent pipelines, and equipping team members at all levels with the tools and skills needed to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Training Strategy & Execution

  • Design and implement standardized training programs across restaurant service, food preparation, and customer experience.
  • Collaborate with all managers, associate managers, and shift leaders to understand training needs and challenges.
  • Build training modules from this feedback.
  • Establish consistent communication channels—such as regular training check-ins, feedback sessions, surveys, and digital message boards—with both individuals and manager groups to collect real-time input on training effectiveness and needs.
  • Use this feedback to ensure training remains relevant, actionable, and delivers measurable, near-term return on investment.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning, improvement, and operational excellence. Pilot Training Rollout
  • Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of pilot training programs to ensure content effectiveness before broad deployment.
  • Use selected restaurant locations to test training content, delivery methods, and trainee engagement.
  • Collect structured feedback from participants and managers to identify improvement areas.
  • Develop an internal trainer cohort with clear expectations and capabilities. Onboarding & Employee Development
  • Develop structured onboarding programs for all new hires, including FOH, BOH, and General Managers, to ensure smooth integration and cultural alignment.
  • Create development pathways for high-potential employees and support long-term career growth within the company.
  • Build and manage a Manager Talent Pipeline / Development Program to prepare internal candidates for leadership roles. Technology & Innovation
  • Roll out and manage a Learning Management System (LMS) to provide scalable and trackable training solutions.
  • Design and produce e-learning modules and blended learning programs to support diverse learning styles and remote access. Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
  • Adapt training strategies based on real-time feedback and evolving needs; open and responsive to input from stakeholders at all levels to ensure programs remain relevant and effective.
  • Establish clear metrics and reporting tools to evaluate training effectiveness. Analyze performance data to identify trends, measure impact, and ROI.
  • Ensure compliance training is current and consistently delivered across all locations. Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of restaurant training and development (required).
  • Minimum 3 years in a senior restaurant operations role (highly preferred).
  • Demonstrated success in scaling training programs for a multi-unit, fast-paced restaurant organization.
  • Proven ability to work with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning development tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data to drive decision-making and program improvement.
  • Experience developing onboarding and compliance training programs.
  • Willing and able to travel regionally at least 60% of the time to deliver and support in-person training across all restaurant locations
  • Skilled in engaging delivery and facilitation, with a strong understanding of adult learning principles and how to design training that resonates with diverse learning styles
