The Training Liaison at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis (BGCM) plays a vital role in ensuring that all staff members are properly trained, onboarded, and in compliance with organizational and Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) training requirements. This position serves as a connector between departments, trainers, and employees, researching, scheduling, and facilitating both mandatory and developmental training programs. The Training Liaison will also assist with tracking certifications (e.g., CPR), assigning required training modules, and coordinating with the HR Department to ensure a culture of continuous learning and professional excellence.
Requirements:
Training & Onboarding Coordination Facilitate and manage onboarding training sessions for all new hires, ensuring consistency with BGCM and BGCA standards. Develop and maintain onboarding materials and training schedules for new staff. Ensure all new employees complete required initial certifications and compliance-related trainings within established timelines. Training Research & Scheduling Research and identify appropriate training resources, schedules, and providers based on organizational and individual staff development needs. Maintain a master calendar of internal and external training sessions, including BGCA trainings, CPR certification, and other job-specific instruction. Coordinate logistics for on-site and off-site trainings, including scheduling trainers, booking venues, and preparing materials. Compliance & Certification Tracking Maintain accurate records of staff certifications, including CPR/First Aid, mandated reporter training, and all BGCA-required courses. Partner with the HR Department to monitor training compliance and notify managers of overdue or upcoming requirements. Assist in preparing reports on training completion and compliance for leadership and audits. Professional Development Assignment Assign required professional development courses via the BGCA Spillett Leadership University or other training platforms. Support management in aligning staff learning plans with career paths and organizational goals. Provide reminders, tech support, and follow-ups to ensure timely course completions. Staff Support & Communication Serve as the point of contact for staff with training-related questions or technical issues accessing learning platforms. Conduct check-ins and surveys to assess training effectiveness and gather staff feedback. Communicate updates or changes to training requirements, schedules, or resources to staff and supervisors. ________________________________________
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in training coordination, human resources, or administrative support. Experience working in nonprofit, youth development, or education-based organizations is a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—verbal and written. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with learning management systems (LMS). Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively across departments. High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential staff information. ________________________________________
Working Conditions & Additional Requirements:
Must be able to travel locally between Club sites for training facilitation or audits. Some evenings or weekends may be required for training events or onboarding. Must pass a criminal background check and possess/maintain valid driver’s license. ________________________________________
