Business Leadership Full Job Description Position Summary:

The Business Development Professional will be responsible for using consultative and value-based sales techniques to understand prospective customers’ needs and recommend training, talent development, and technology adoption solutions and services in a compelling and strategic manner. Primary customers include small and medium-sized manufacturers, OEMs, and Tier 1 suppliers. This position manages existing client relationships and builds new program participation opportunities through outreach, prospecting, and business development in the manufacturing-focused training and technology program market. Communication channels include phone, email, webinars, and in-person sessions and tours. This role also includes a focus on sales enablement by defining standard business development processes, developing sales documentation, and supporting tools for internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:

Initiate and secure customer agreements for training and technology programs. Conduct outreach and engagement with potential clients. Communicate the value of services and offerings in a compelling manner. Deliver presentations to varied audiences via in-person or digital formats. Identify customer needs and position solutions effectively. Maintain professional relationships throughout and after sales cycles. Provide professional, value-driven recommendations to clients and team members. Follow-up to support program engagement. Utilize CRM systems to manage leads and provide customer support. Coordinate information sessions and facility tours. Build and manage relationships with manufacturers and trade organizations. Collaborate with internal teams to align service delivery with client needs. Maintain sales pipelines and track program participation metrics. Contribute to improvements in participant recruitment and onboarding.

Sales Enablement:

Develop and implement standardized sales processes, templates, and enablement tools. Maintain documentation and internal knowledge-sharing resources. Generate reports and dashboards that track pipeline performance and sales goals. Analyze business development data and report findings to leadership.

Qualifications:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business, education, marketing, engineering, technology, or a related field required.

Skills & Experience:

6+ years of business development or B2B sales experience, particularly in manufacturing or private industry. Demonstrated success in creating and executing strategic sales or customer service plans. Experience within technical or industrial environments. Strong familiarity with manufacturing sector operations. Effective leadership and team collaboration skills. CRM system proficiency and strong analytical capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with U.S. military or Department of Defense contractor communities. Existing professional relationships with manufacturers across the northeastern U.S.

Must meet applicable citizenship eligibility requirements.

Working Conditions & Additional Details:
Schedule:

Onsite, Monday-Friday.

Physical Demands:

Frequent computer use and office communication. Occasional travel to industrial sites, with safety compliance required.

Travel:

20-30%, with potential for increased travel during the first year.
