POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Education and Prevention Manager, the Training Specialist serves as the primary trainer for professionals, agency personnel, and community adults. The Training Specialist provides quality, capacity-building domestic violence education to community adult groups (college/university students, faith-based organizations, local clubs/associations, and others) and to professionals in the community from various disciplines. Additionally, the Training Specialist develops, facilitates, coordinates, and oversees the training program for Agency personnel including staff, interns, and volunteers. The Training Specialist provides required training to agency personnel through live instructor-led training as well as through the development, recording, and maintenance of E-Learning modules. Through research and development, and in partnering with Agency leadership and external trainers, the Training Specialist coordinates and delivers a comprehensive range of relevant, effective training opportunities to promote the capacity and professional development of Agency personnel, professionals from various disciplines, and other adults and stakeholders in the community.

DAYS/HOURS

Full time, 40 hours per week Monday-Friday to include some flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed. Position requires employee to have scheduling flexibility as needed to support the team and meet the needs of this agency.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Health, Education, Psychology, Mental Health or related human services field required.
Excellent presentation/training and public speaking skills.
Interest in training, teaching, and facilitation. Two or more years’ experience in training development and delivery or teaching preferred.
High degree of initiative and independence.
Experience working with groups from various demographics and diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge of and commitment to domestic violence education and/or public health prevention models.
Previous work or volunteer experience in domestic violence or other social services preferred
Empathetic, with a commitment to serving those in need.
Proficient computer and technology skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and virtual training/meeting platforms.
Valid Florida driver’s license. Safe/Acceptable driving history. Proof of Automobile Liability Insurance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Delivers violence prevention and awareness presentations to community adult audiences (faith-based organizations, clubs/associations, colleges and universities etc.).
Facilitates DV capacity-building trainings for multi-disciplinary professionals (social services, healthcare, law enforcement, and others.)
Works with the department manager and Education & Prevention team colleagues to develop, review, update, and adapt training materials as needed.
Develops an annual agency wide training program focused on service quality, best practice models, and employee development, to include delivering orientations and trainings in alignment with the organization’s mission, vision, core values and strategic objectives.
Conducts research and evaluation on current programs and methods, consulting with supervisors, surveying employees, and distributing employee assessments.
Maintain personnel training records and back up documentation required by regulatory bodies. Ensures that internal trainings are in compliance with policies, procedures, laws and external regulations.
Completes other department or agency tasks as assigned.
