Description The Training Specialist II is responsible for maintaining and tracking all mandatory FDLE certifications as well as managing the training library and facilitating the development of lesson plans and programs in accordance with agency policies and accreditation standards for employees. Incumbent will assist in conducting training and development programs and produce required periodic reports for employees. The specialist also assists with maintaining personnel records, managing all training schedules and supporting the training unit’s daily functions.
Pay Grade:
P25 Duties Maintains a comprehensive library of all agency-approved training lesson plans and coordinates the annual review process to ensure compliance with agency policies and accreditation standards.
Manages and updates the agency’s training Point page.
Assists with New Hire Orientation for agency employees.
Ensures training records are updated and maintained accurately.
Tracks mandatory training attendance and reports non-compliance as needed.
Schedules members for training courses and ensures timely completion of invitations and reservations.
Uploads training bulletins, surveys, and required documentation into PowerDMS.
Supports instructors in preparing for training sessions by ensuring all lesson plans, materials, and training aids are available.
Reviews instructor and course evaluations post-training and prepares summary reports.
Enters completed training data into the TRN records management system.
Coordinates all aspects of training programs, both in-house and hosted.
Prepares, updates, and submits training statistical reports as required.
Creates and distributes training bulletins for internal and external courses.
Answers or redirects phone calls and provides assistance to the Training Unit as needed.
Delivers professional and timely customer service to Clay County Sheriff’s Office employees.
Assists Training Unit support staff as required.
Processes incoming and outgoing documents and files in accordance with supervisory guidance and agency procedures.
Participates in cross-training efforts, supports coworkers when needed, and collaborates to learn new tasks as part of a team.
Reports maintenance, safety, and compliance concerns or incidents to the appropriate personnel or department.
Completes all assignments, special projects, and budgetary tasks in a timely manner, in accordance with agency policies.
Adheres to agency attendance and leave policies, including punctuality, full shift coverage, and timely submission of timesheets and leave requests.
Checks assigned mailbox, phone calls, emails, and PowerDMS notifications regularly, responding promptly and professionally.
Assists the Training Coordinator with
FDLE ATMS
reports and Tyler Munis training and purchase entries.
Notifies the chain of command of any notable concerns or developments.
Accepts supervision and feedback in a professional and constructive manner in alignment with agency standards.
Conducts themselves with professionalism, courtesy, and integrity at all times, adhering to the agency’s code of ethics.
Fosters positive working relationships with colleagues and other units to enhance training services.
Demonstrates respect for cultural, religious, and gender diversity in all professional interactions.
Actively participates in job-specific training and professional development.
Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in training coordination, records management, or administrative support. Experience in a law enforcement or government setting is preferred. Prior CCSO training/coordinating experience preferred.
Valid Florida driver’s license required.
Familiarity with FDLE ATMS and CJSTC standards is an asset. Qualifications and Requirements for All Positions High school diploma or equivalent

FDLE Authority for Release (notarized) Supplemental Information Salary is negotiable for full-time positions prior to initial hire, if requested, based on verified experience up to step five (5) of the assigned pay grade.
