POSITION SUMMARY

The Provider Quality Specialist (PQS) is responsible for providing International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) accredited training, certified coaching, communities of practice and technical assistance to early learning programs on areas such as early childhood development, continuous quality improvement strategies and the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS). The PQS position is also responsible for supporting childcare programs using a comprehensive approach while providing guidance to assist programs in meeting School Readiness & Voluntary Prekindergarten program requirements. This position is an important liaison between ELCHC, and the childcare provider community focused on building and developing relationships.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Coach, train, and offer technical assistance to providers on aspects of early childhood best practices, including the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) Work collaboratively to design and facilitate IACET professional development training and Communities of Practice Conduct program assessments using the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) according to DEL & coalition requirements; and maintain CLASS reliability in all tools Write CLASS Observation reports with accuracy, and limited errors or need for revisions Independently manage workload and navigate complex scheduling situations and demonstrate advanced time-management skills Work on special projects & Initiatives related to developmentally appropriate practices, quality improvement & curriculum, workforce development and kindergarten transition, as assigned Ensure exceptional customer service as needed and field inquiries from providers and offer general information and technical assistance to providers on various areas of the coalition’s operations and the Division of Early Learning requirements Attend regular professional development workshops, training and/or professional conferences documenting a minimum of 30 hours of professional development annually Provide accurate, prompt, and professional communications with the childcare provider community. Field and/or site visits to childcare programs are required. Perform other duties that may be necessary to maintain the success of the organization, as determined by leadership

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in early childhood education, social services, or other closely related field Ability to exemplify our Core Values of Integrity, Equity, Accountability, Collaboration, Innovation, Transparency, Consistency and Benevolence Minimum 5 years of experience in an early learning environment, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience coaching and training early childcare professionals in a classroom environment Proven ability to connect with a diverse population Ability to provide consultation and technical assistance in a friendly professional manner Knowledge of Best-in-Class Customer Service Skills Certification in COP and Coaching from college or university program preferred Familiarity with CLASS; CLASS certified preferred, required after formal training on the tool Knowledge of School Readiness and VPK policies and procedures Ability to design, plan and provide competency-based training for adult learning styles Advanced organizational, analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Successful completion of the level 2 background screening standards as set forth in s. 435.04, F.S. This job operates in a childcare provider community and in a general office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers/fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently interacts with staff, vendors, and the public in person and via telephone and email.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit for prolonged periods of time, at a desk, utilizing a computer and reviewing online and paper documents. The employee will also be required to lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
