Youth Development Professional (Seasonal – Summer Camp) Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County Sebastian, FL 32958 This is a seasonal position that requires availability of 40 hours between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday for our Summer Program. Training would take place from May 19th, 2025 to May 30th, 2025 (M-F) observing a closure on Memorial Day. The Summer Program runs from June 2nd, 2025 to August 8th, 2025 (M-F) observing a closure on Independence Day.
PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Youth Development Professional is responsible for planning, implementing, facilitating, and evaluating all programs and activities in their assigned program area.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
1. Plan and oversee the administration of all BGC programs and activities that support the Youth Development Framework. 2. Instill a sense of belonging in members as well as staff during programs and activities. 3. Manage room and ensure a productive environment, maintaining an inventory of all program equipment and supplies in good order. 4. Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of youth development outcomes. 5. Provide guidance and role modeling to members. Program Supervision Provide active supervision continually interacting with all members and providing motivation and encouragement. Discipline members fairly, consistently, and only according to established policies and procedures. Serve as a role model and mentor to members and peers. Additional Responsibilities 1. May participate in special programs and/or events 2. May be required to drive Club van 3. Complete trainings as required 4. May be required to help out in multiple areas as needed 5. Clean area as needed at the end of day
RELATIONSHIPS
Internal:
Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.
External:
Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members’ parents and others to assist in resolving problems.
