Assistant Director, Professional Development (Instructional Specialist, 12-Month Salaried) Florida State University – 4.3 Tallahassee, FL Job Details Full-time $90,000 a year 12 hours ago Qualifications Law Academic advising Mid-level 3 years Full Job Description Department College of Law Responsibilities This position is a 12-Month Instructional Specialist faculty position that reports directly to the Associate Dean of Career Services and Professional Development.

The responsibilities include:

Develops and teaches an upper-level course in the JD or JM Program. Advises students and alumni on job search preparation including resume and application materials, job search strategies, and available resources and interview preparation. Advises students on practice area and JD-advantage careers, as well as emerging fields and required competencies. Supervises support staff and assists the Associate Dean with short- and long-range planning and goal setting. Engages Law Alumni in student advising and mentorship through outreach and social media platforms. Develops resources, programs and information sessions as requested by the Associate Dean of Career Services and Professional Development. Coordinates with law school Certificate programs, Centers and Institutes, and the Externship Office to advise students on resources and opportunities available through these programs. Develops and maintains relationships with a variety of employers, in state and out of state. Attends industry conferences and networking events. Qualifications Applicants must have a law degree from an ABA-accredited law school, and a minimum of three years prior legal experience and/or experience related to academic advising and student programs.
