Description
Administrative and clerical work in support of an office or section. This position will primarily support the Training Division within the Fire Department.
•Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description. •Additional compensation based on licensure. Essential Functions

Answers phones and responds to inquiries. Maintains files, office records, and official records. Performs data entry and generates reports and forms. Composes proofs and mails and files correspondence.
Coordinates calendar scheduling for training activities and classrooms, publishes training calendar, and enters all events into Division-wide daily calendar.
Designs, develops, and maintains database applications to support technical and administrative functions. Develops statistical queries/reports to collect and report requested information.
Tracks compliance with State-mandated training, licenses, certifications, and professional standards.
Prepares documents for training classes, including editing, copying, and assembling manuals, handouts, and tests. Designs and produces student certificates and cards.
Tracks students from outside agencies and invoices for their attendance at designated training classes.
Operates standard office equipment including a personal computer, associated software, calculator, or copy machine as necessary to complete assigned duties. The most current organizational chart defines to whom this position reports.
Additional Duties:
Assigned special projects dependent upon Fire Department needs
In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.
Minimum Qualifications
A High School Diploma or GED and three (3) years of experience in a support staff position are required.
A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
Additional Requirements
Competent in the use of English, spelling, punctuation, math, and modern office procedures including record-keeping methods. Experience in project management and the use of standard project management software
Ability to handle telephone communications in a courteous manner. Ability to work independently in carrying out assignments to completion. Ability to maintain records and filing systems in an orderly and consistent manner. Ability to prepare, submit and maintain confidential personnel and risk management paperwork/information. Ability to use a personal computer and associated software. Skilled in the use and care of standard office machines.
Possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.
All employees must attend Seminole County Required Training.
