JOB DESCRIPTION
The Training Specialist is responsible for designing content and organizing, administering, and tracking a variety of training programs. In this role, the Training Specialist partners with the Planning and Guidance team and members of the Training & Development (T&D) team to perform training needs assessments and to develop training programs and content to enhance the skills and competencies of our client facing teams.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Development:
Work closely with the Planning and Guidance team to develop structured learning experiences, instructional materials, job aids, manuals, and other learning tools. Design, develop, and modify new and existing courses and programs. Partner with internal subject matter experts and other external training instructors as needed. May assist with design and development of curriculum using appropriate learning methodology including e-learning.
Program Implementation:
Collaborate with the Planning and Guidance team to deploy training programs in coordination with leadership. Identify, schedule, and prepare subject matter authorities or other identified resources to develop, evaluate, and deliver learning solutions within budget. Create forecasts and estimates of project costs with direction. Schedule and organize training sessions, workshops, seminars, and e-learning modules. Monitor the functional training schedules for newly hired or cross-training initiatives. Build and maintain the Advisor training calendar.
Resource Management:
Act as a liaison with external trainers, consultants, and training providers, as necessary. Prepare and distribute training materials, such as manuals, guides, and e-learning content.
Tracking and Evaluation:
Monitor the effectiveness of training programs through feedback surveys and performance assessments. Analyze training data to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement Prepare detailed reports on training outcomes and metrics for management review. Use the Learning Management System (LMS) to maintain training records and monitor results to ensure training completion. Stay abreast of new trends and tools in Training and Development.
EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Adult learning theory and practices, or a related field. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in training and development or a similar role, preferably within a corporate environment. Experience with instructional needs assessment, design, evaluation, and coordinating training program rollouts. Proficiency in LMS and LCMS tools, Microsoft Office suite, and other presentation tools. Experience in an RIA/Investment Management Firm or other type of Financial Services firm is a plus. Position may involve travel.
