The Opportunity:

The Senior Specialist, Emerging Talent Development Programs will play a pivotal role in supporting Smurfit Westrock North America’s rotational programs, aligning with our early career strategy to build a robust and diverse talent pipeline ready to meet future business needs. The ideal candidate will ensure a seamless and enriching experience for program participants, from onboarding through rotations to permanent placement, fostering engagement and professional growth. This role is critical in developing the leaders of tomorrow through impactful early career programs.
How you will impact

Smurfit Westrock:

Assist with the evaluation, integration, development, and execution of early career rotational programs in alignment with the early career strategy and business goals
Partner with the business to support structured rotations that provide participants withprehensive experiences, exposure and capability building for future talent readiness
Oversee the end-to-end participant journey, ensuring a consistent, positive and impactful experience throughout the program
Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify suitable rotation opportunities and ensure meaningful work assignments
Support the coordination of rotation assignments and help facilitate the transition of participants into permanent roles upon programpletion
Partner with program leads for functional rotation programs to support program objectives and ensure continuity with onboarding, development, and engagement with early career talent across programs
Partner closely with early career recruiters to proactively attract and hire high-potential diverse talent for the program
Work closely with Talent Management and Learning to develop and maintain robust onboarding processes and development programs tailored to early career professionals; integrate mentoring and coaching to support participant development and retention
Provide day-to-day support to program participants, addressing their needs and fostering a sense ofmunity through regular check-ins, networking events, and developmental workshops
Establish and monitor success metrics to evaluate program effectiveness and inform continuous improvement efforts
What you need to succeed:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field
5+ years of experience in talent development, program management, or early career initiatives within a corporate setting
Proven ability to design and manage rotational or leadership development programs
Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and stakeholders
Excellent interpersonal andmunication skills, with a track record of effective collaboration across diverse teams
Demonstratedmitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within talent programs
Proficiency in utilizing data analytics to inform program decisions and improvements
Ability to work independently under pressure, prioritize multiple projects, and adjust work accordingly, often against tight deadlines, while paying close attention to detail
Adaptable and agile, able to navigate a fast-paced environment
Ability to work in a collaborative environment and build mutual trust and credibility at all levels of theanization
