DCS is seeking a skilled Textile Engineer to join our fast-pacedacquisition program office. You will be responsible for supportingall aspects of the textile engineering process for assignedprograms. The ideal candidate is an energetic, self-starter withstrong communication and organizational skills.
Essential JobFunctions:
Assists in the research, design, development,fabrication, test and evaluation, and materials integration ofcomplex systems for a variety of warfighter and Soldier platforms.
Assists with materiel system investigations and analysis todetermine the feasibility of various advanced technological andproduct development approaches, to define design concepts andcriteria for future programs, or to resolve major controversialproblems in current programs. Reviews and evaluates systemperformance against specification requirements, monitors andassesses field performance, and assesses risk of meeting user andspecification requirements. Identifying material/end-itemdeficiencies, proposing sound technological concepts, recommendingdevelopment programs to be undertaken, and preparing fundingestimates and time phasing requirements for achieving significantimprovements. Initiates engineering change proposals andwaivers/deviations as required. Assists in the development of jointprograms with industry to facilitate research in manufacturingprocesses and transitions the fabrication methodology for themanufacture of military clothing. Assists in the management ofprogram and project fiscal resources allocated for RDTE programsand customer projects. Delivers briefings and prepares reportsincluding interpretations, conclusions, and recommendations.
Maintains active contact with industry, academia, and otherorganizations involved with research and development of relatedareas. Assists in the review of program management documents toensure accuracy and adequacy of technical content.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S.Citizenship is required. Master’s degree and 6 years of relevantexperience. Must have a DoD Secret clearance. The proposed salaryrange for this position is:
Salary Range:
