QUESTIONS
Description of Work Reporting to the Administrative Officer, this position is responsible for administering and managing institutional training for all position classifications. Job responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following: Planning and development of training calendars and lesson plans, assessment and identification of training needs.
Planning, coordinating, and delivering a multi-course program of instruction at the training site. Notifying/monitoring training delivery and coordinating/conducting training classes
Documenting and record keeping for all training activities. Working well with staff and other training professionals within Adult Correction and the community college system.
Prioritizing work effectively to meet established deadlines as well as responding to immediate needs. Staying abreast of all policy changes affecting training and ensuring all lesson plans are current and approved. Conducting periodic evaluations of certified general/specific instructors at the facility and others to meet the requirement of the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards for recertification.
Establishing and maintaining effective communication with other instructors, students, and supervisors. Formulating ideas and communicating them in verbal and written form. Operating audio-visual equipment. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. This is an anticipated vacancy. This position is expected to be available on July 01, 2025. Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 19,000 employees.
