In this position, you will design, conduct, and implement comprehensive safety training programs, as well as fulfill the need for occasional instructor-led, site-specific safety training (OSHA compliance). This position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and a willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety training programs and initiatives to meet the needs of NASP members and industry professionals. Create engaging and interactive training materials, including presentations, manuals, videos, and e-learning modules. Conduct thorough assessments of training needs within different industries and organizations to tailor programs accordingly. Perform mock OSHA inspections, environmental assessments, and develop written OHS plans and programs for clients. Lead site-specific training for clients across the US, primarily on HAZWOPER, Confined Space Entry, Lockout/Tagout, and others. Deliver training sessions to diverse audiences, including employees, supervisors, and management personnel. Provide guidance and support to members and clients regarding safety training requirements, resources, and solutions. Maintain accurate training records and generate reports to track attendance, completion rates, and other key performance indicators.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in using learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools Proven experience in designing and delivering engaging training programs to diverse audiences. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety training, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role. Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information. In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices across various industries. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, including overnight stays on occasion. Professional certifications such as Master Safety Professional (MSP), Certified Safety Director (CSD), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM), Certified Instructional Trainer (CIT) or equivalent are strongly preferred. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
