Job Description
Applied Materials, Inc. is seeking a Technical Training (Customer Support Technical Trainer) [Req #G758] in Albany, NY, to: Prepare customized technical training materials, classroom/lab activities, courses regarding equipment installation depending on the customer, the level of certification. Present technical training in house and at customer sites, focusing on specialized / customized courses. Manage classroom/lab activities to assure fulfillment of course objectives. Present and practice safety per procedure. Maintain product technical knowledge sufficient to prepare and present defined product courses. Disseminate new information to staff. Train and certify local instructors that deliver training courses and establish new certification requirements. Utilize Technical Publications and System Business Units to maximize technical documentation efficiencies. Create and augment documentation to fill gaps in released materials. Evaluate instructor performance. Train others in standard course development process/Instructional System Design. Responsible for course design approval. Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting skills to assist with system repairs; ensure system functionality can support course objectives; ensure all safety retrofits are installed on the training systems. Inform customers of additional technical training courses/products available; assist marketing in building customer relationships and selling technical training related products. Analyze customer issues/needs to determine future training opportunities. Up to 25% travel required (domestic and international).
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics or Electrical Engineering or an Engineering-related field and 5 years of semiconductor field experience. Demonstrate knowledge and/or experience in each of the following: 1) Endura 2 300mm PVD and ALD/CVD Chambers; 2) Operate, service, repair and teach theory and troubleshooting concepts on semiconductor equipment, with emphasis on Endura2 Product; 3) Utilizing precision devices and electronics test instruments; 4) Electronics and system troubleshooting; 5) Chemistry and ALD/CVD process specifically metal deposition on semiconductor device; 6) Advanced Troubleshooting of software and hardware issues on semiconductor equipment; 7) SAP/CRM processes; and 8) Experience Certifying Advanced Engineer PVD (Multiple Chamber Types), and instructing Engineer courses in Radio Frequency Plasma Fundamentals, Precision Workmanship and Industry Fundamentals.
Salary Range:
