NOTICE OF JOB VACANCY

Job Title:

Employment & Training SpecialistThe work involves responsibility for implementing a variety of programs for a County Employment and Training Department. The incumbent coordinates Employment and Training services for participants enrolled in the Employment and Training program, in accordance with Federal, State and local laws and rules. The work is performed under general supervision of a higher level administrator with wide leeway allowed for the exercise of independent judgment in planning out the details of the work. Does related work as required.

Work Hours:

Full-time, 35 hours per week, with benefits

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Either:

(a)Possession of a Bachelor’s degree or higher; OR(b)Possession of an Associate’s degree or higher and two (2) years of experience in a human services field; OR(c)Possession of high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and four (4) years of experience in a human services field; OR(d)An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (a) and (b) and (c).

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Possession of a valid New York State driver’s license is required. Failure to maintain a NYS driver’s license including driving privileges throughout employment will result in disciplinary action or dismissal.

NOTE:

Degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If the degree was awarded by an educational institution outside of the United States and its territories, applicant must provide independent verification of equivalency.
