Coordinator of Professional Development YWCA of Brooklyn 30 3rd Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11217
Position Summary:
The Coordinator of Professional Development supports the economic empowerment and career development of high school and college participants in the YWCA Brooklyn LEAD College Access and Leadership Program. This position focuses on developing programming for employability readiness and career exposure. Additionally, the Coordinator is responsible for maintaining ongoing partnerships with professional women in various sectors to create opportunities for networking and career exposure for program participants.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement programming to increase high school and college participants’ knowledge of workforce skills, including resume and cover letter writing, interview prep, workplace expectations and protocols, common office software programs, etc. Facilitate monthly professional development experiences for high school and college participants, including career day events, job shadowing, panels, etc., to expose participants to successful women in a variety of careers and industries. Meet individually with college students who are interested in career exploration, internships, and employment to develop personalized professional plans. Foster ongoing relationships with a diverse range of existing partners (corporate, nonprofit, governmental, educational, program alumni etc.) Maintain up to date data in program software to ensure accurate student reporting. Work collaboratively with supervisor and YW Brooklyn LEAD program team to ensure seamless transition of program components. Ensure compliance and confidentiality in all services provided to students. Perform other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required Minimum 3 years’ experience in professional development with youth specifically Experience with curriculum development and workshop facilitation Ability to work effectively with diverse constituents and a wide range of stakeholders Excellent interpersonal skills Experience working successfully both independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team Proven time management and organizational skills Ability to prioritize and meet stated deadlines Positive, professional demeanor; excellent judgment and discretion Strong written and oral communication skills Technological proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite Previous experience with CRM/database software, such as Apricot, preferred Interested and qualified candidates should submit a cover letter, resume and salary requirements.

$57,000.00 – $62,000.00 per year
