What you will be doing:
The IT Instructional Support Technician will join the talented team at the Allegheny Valley School District. You will support the Tier 1 + 2 Technology needs of school faculty, staff, and students. This includes the training and support of educational and operational applications and coordinating the integration of technology into curriculum and instructional processes.
Essential Functions:
Provide direct tier 1 technical support to Students, Faculty, and Staff Triage, diagnose, and repair chromebook laptops and tablets Coordinate routine training of instructional technology to faculty and staff Assist in planning and coordinating educational technology integration Plan and lead training/professional-development sessions Assist with management and upkeep of educational applications Must be self-directed and able to take initiative Specific Technology Skills/Experience Strong ability to learn new things, master their usage, and train others Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong knowledge of Google Workplace apps Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Mac OS, and Chrome OS Google Workspace Apps, MacOS, Windows 10/11, ChromeOS, iOS/iPadOS – Preferred Ability to function both collaboratively and independently Ability to investigate and troubleshoot technical problems Strong interpersonal skills and customer service skills Exceptional organizational and record keeping skills Qualifications & Educational Requirements Associate’s degree in technology or education or two years’ experience in a similar role. Previous experience in an educational setting Experience repairing chromebook laptops Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure. Ability to teach complicated technology tasks and concepts to non-technology individuals and groups Ability to effectively present information and articulately respond to questions from administrators, staff, parents, and students Self-motivator, independent, flexible, cooperative, and responsible. Frequent travel between School District offices, buildings, classrooms, and facilities. Must be able to successfully pass Mutiple background checks and clearances.
