- . We are currently looking for a
- Training & Development Specialist
- who will be responsible for coordinating, facilitating, and designing training programs that develop and enhance the skills, safety, and productivity of our workforce.
The ideal candidate has experience in fast-paced environments, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings, has a strong grasp of production floor dynamics and technical learning needs, and is passionate about workforce development.
- What You Will Be Doing
- Training Coordination
- Plan and schedule onboarding, compliance, and technical training sessions to accommodate day and night shifts across multiple departments
- Maintain training calendars, attendance records, and certification databases
- Work with shift supervisors and group leads to ensure training coverage without impacting production flow
- Coordinate with keys stakeholders to assess scheduling and training needs across the organization
- Track and maintain training records, certifications, and requalification schedules (e.g., weld procedures, forklift certifications).
- Facilitation
- Lead instructor-led training sessions, both classroom and shop-floor based
- Support hands-on training for equipment, processes, and quality protocols
- Facilitate safety and compliance training in coordination with EHS personnel.
- Content Development
- Design and develop training materials, manuals, job aids, and e-learning modules
- Customize training content based on process changes, new equipment, or skills gaps
- Evaluate and update existing training programs to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
- Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
- Collect and analyze feedback from participants and managers
- Track training KPIs (e.g., completion rates, effectiveness scores)
- Recommend process improvements and content enhancements based on performance data.
- Stakeholder Management
- Serve as a liaison between HR and Operations to ensure training aligns with safety, compliance, and organizational goals
- Facilitate regular check-ins and feedback loops with frontline leaders to refine and adjust training strategies based on shop-floor realities
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to co-develop technical content that reflects best practices
- Support cross-functional initiatives by aligning training programs with company-wide initiatives like lean manufacturing, ISO certification, etc
- Maintain effective communication with union representatives (if applicable) to ensure training initiatives support contractual agreements and workforce development goals.

- Your Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field (or equivalent work experience) required.
- The Work Environment at Rhoads
- The performance of this position involves exposure to construction or industrial areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hard hats and hearing protection is required
- US Citizenship required
- 3+ years of experience
- in a training and development role, ideally within manufacturing, skilled trades, or industrial operations
- Experience with adult learning principles, curriculum design, and facilitation techniques
- Strong project coordination and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and learning management systems (LMS)
- Familiarity with safety and compliance standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO) a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, comfortable with shop floor engagement
- Able to develop and deliver training on all shifts, including early mornings or nights as needed.
