Job Description
Training Coordinator 2.9 2.9 out of 5 stars Dorchester County, SC Job Responsibilities Coastal Regional Center is a residential facility of the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs located in Summerville, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position serves as the main instructor for multiple In-Service Training/Center Wide Orientation courses and also serves as a substitute instructor for other instructors when necessary. As an instructor, this position will be responsible for reviewing and updating In-Service Training curriculum as well as assisting with the presentation methods used with training. This position will be asked to assist with Volunteer Services when needed. Teach/ train courses provided In-Service Training, including certified courses such as Therapeutic Options, Defensive Driving, Positive Behavior Support and
CPR/AED/SFA.
Courses will be provided during new hire orientation, but also for center-wide staff trainings with various requirements for annual and other training information. This instructor will also participate in distributing/training/documenting all annual training sessions and requirements for staff. Keeps/files documentation for training records electronically. Use of Training Management System (TMS) in Therap for scheduling courses, publishing courses, and uploading electronic copies of documentation. Performs administrative duties relative to Staff Development and Volunteer Services. This includes but is not limited to correspondence with staff in regard to these areas; Therap reporting; scheduling In-Service Training courses for recertification purposes. Minimum and Additional Requirements A bachelor’s degree and relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications Preferred 1-3 years of instruction/training experience, special consideration for hands on or classroom experience. Knowledge of applicable training principles and practices. Knowledge of methods and techniques of conducting formal and informal training sessions. Knowledge of visual aid use and development. Knowledge of aids, methods and service skills which will enable the visually impaired to become rehabilitated. Ability to conduct conferences, lead discussions, instruct training groups and stimulate individuals and groups in the learning process. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to analyze training and development needs and resources and to recommend and communicate solutions effectively.
