Summary:
Develops, administers and evaluates training programs on essential workplace skills, corporate culture, business philosophy, corporate values, company history, and leadership and planning through Hendrick University.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: + Provides guidance, consultation, and staff assistance to dealership management concerning employee training and development matters. + Provides the required Hendrick University training curriculum for Hendrick Automotive Group and affiliated locations: + Facilitates / trains curriculum in an interactive, give-and-take manner with participants + Changes curriculum, as needed, through effective facilitation, to match experience level and attitude of participants (during the sessions) + Controls sessions by engaging and challenging participants to make the most of the training experience + Performs at an acceptable level as determined by course evaluations and participant feedback. + Provides logistical support for the training sessions by setting up and maintaining training facilities. + Conducts follow-up communications with participants by writing and if possible, by phone or in-person visits to measure progress and evaluate effectiveness of training. + Reports on progress of employees under guidance during training periods. + Takes part in the scheduled Hendrick University and Hendrick Automotive Group meetings, as needed. + Obtains various training certifications, if determined necessary by the Vice President, Training. + Assists in developing new training courses, as needed. + Formulates teaching outline and determines instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops. + Selects or develops teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works. + Demonstrates the Company’s Core Values + Complies with Company policies and procedures + Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties. + Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong knowledge of automotive industry. Superior presentation and communication skills required.

Valid Driver’s License Computer Skills:
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products. Ability to learn the Dealership Management System, Spreadsheet software, and other software programs for operational needs.
Communication Skills:
Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and company personnel.
Attendance Expectations:
The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Hours may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays to meet required deadlines.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and sit. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
Environment Demands:
Duties are performed primarily in training facilities in dealership environment in addition to some office work at the Management office or Regional location. Extensive travel (70%) by air and car is required. Position requires extensive interaction with Management Office employees, dealership management and dealership employees.
Verbal and Writing Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and employees.
Math Ability:
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
