This position will report to the Associate Vice Chancellor. The Director of Development will build relationships to generate financial support for the College of Health, Education and Professional Studies through the discovery, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major gift prospects and donors. The Director will coordinate closely with the Dean and faculty members to broaden the prospect base and address the key fundraising priorities of the university and college, including future capital expansion. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Major Gifts:

Direct, develop, and conduct major gift fundraising efforts for the College of Health, Education and Professional Studies. Collaborate with dean, faculty members, department heads and volunteers to build their participation in fundraising. Prepare customized presentations, proposals and prospect briefings. The Director will manage and steward 100-150 major prospects, with minimum annual expectations of 130 donor visits, 20 proposals, and $1,000,000 raised after an introductory period. The Director will participate in campus-wide fundraising efforts as determined by Advancement Leadership.

Annual Giving:

Coordinate annual giving strategies and leadership annual giving solicitations with UTC annual giving director including Faculty and Staff Campaign efforts for the College of Health, Education and Professional Studies. Manage or assist in college focused special events for fundraising and stewardship purposes, including management of deans’ advisory groups, etc.

Administrative:

Other professional duties as needed to assure the efficiency and effectiveness of development operations as assigned by Associate Vice Chancellor or Dean. Required Education and Experience The candidate who fills the Director of Development position is required to have: Bachelor’s degree 5 years of experience in higher education fundraising, but reasonably related professional experience will be recognized; experience preparing customized proposals and prospect briefings A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required due to travel responsibilities of the position. UTFI reserves the right to consider all appropriate circumstances. In general, any significant driving offense less than 12 months old will eliminate the application from consideration for the position. Note – Candidates holding a graduate degree must have at least 3 years of experience. Preferred Education and Experience In addition to meeting the required qualifications, the preferred candidate will have: Master’s degree
