To effectively and efficiently facilitate the Credit Recovery Program. To plan, promote, implement, supervise, and evaluate effective instructional and related programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Three (3) years teaching experience. Valid Alabama professional educator certificate. Ability to meet suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457. Ability to understand the unique needs, growth issues, and learning characteristics of students. Knowledge of special education laws, policies, rules, and procedures. Proficiency in oral and written communication skills. Effective interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on communication and collaboration with a wide variety of people and groups, for the purpose of maximizing student achievement. Ability to use technology to communicate, to plan and provide instruction, to facilitate student learning, to manage data, and to produce/submit required reports, correspondence, and/or financial information. Knowledge of student behavior management. Physical mobility and visual acuity to visit schools and classrooms and to perform job requirements. Ability to be punctual and in regular attendance. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require.
Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, goals, and priorities. Provides general supervision for the Credit Recovery Program. Serves as point-of-contact for issues involving credit recovery system access. Enrolls students into the courses selected by their counselors on the credit recovery system. Monitors students participation/progress and collaborates with counselors as set forth in the CCBOE Rebound Guidelines. Maintains accurate records and report data related to program participation and effectiveness. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of child development. Demonstrates knowledge of the prescribed curriculum, current educational research and technological tools; exhibits skills in implementing the best instructional practices and varied teaching methods to address student learning styles and achieve meaningful and measurable outcomes in accordance with course of study guidelines and student learning objectives. Utilizes technology to provide instruction and facilitate student learning. Models appropriate and innovative use of technology for students. Facilitates and monitors the integration of technology in the classroom. Provides modifications for students with special needs, including exceptional education students and students who have limited proficiency in English as required. Establishes routines and uses appropriate behavior management techniques. Participates in administration of state and/or standardized testing as assigned. Organizes procedures, practices, materials, and routines for the effective use of instructional time and for the completion of administration activities. Fosters student responsibility, appropriate social behavior, integrity, valuing of cultural diversity, and respect for self and others through role modeling and learning activities. Supervises and/or assists with extracurricular and co-curricular activities as assigned. Supports school improvement initiatives by active participation in school activities, events, ceremonies, services and programs. Engages in personal professional growth, adheres to professional standards, and demonstrates professional ethics, sound judgment and leadership. Maintains confidentiality regarding student/school/workplace matters in accordance with state and federal law. Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for improvement in areas of responsibility. Responds to inquiries and requests in a timely and positive manner. Maintains and submits required reports, records and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner. Properly cares for equipment and material resources of the school system. Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policies and state, federal and local laws. Reports absences and takes leave in accordance with Board policies and procedures; prepares for substitutes according to Board policies and school procedures. Performs any other job-related duties as assigned by Supervisor(s).
