Job Description School Counselor (K-8, Year-Round) | Florida-Certified | Start June 2025 About the Role We’re seeking a Florida-certified School Counselor for a full-time, year-round position supporting students and families in a K-8 setting. You’ll collaborate with educators, families, and school leadership to improve student outcomes through strong support systems, guidance programming, and social-emotional interventions.

Valid Florida Certification in School Counseling (PK-12)
At least 1 year of school counseling experience with measurable impact
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to pass a background check as required by law Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of experience in a K-8 setting (counseling or teaching)
Experience developing school-wide systems and building community partnerships
Confidence leading student support initiatives and parent engagement strategies What You’ll Do Serve as the LEA and coordinate district Multi-Response Team (MRT) meetings
Collaborate with teachers to deliver in-class guidance and character education
Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based interventions
Support student attendance and engagement through family outreach
Onboard and support new families as they transition into the school
Connect families with local resources and community programs
Lead summer reading and credit recovery efforts through FLVS
Plan and host at least one community-building event each school year
Maintain and improve counseling systems aligned to student needs
