Qualifications:
Support the mission and goals of Catholic Education. Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling. School counseling experience preferred. Florida School Counselor Certificate or be eligible for Florida certification. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Level II background check and mandated trainings.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Works in collaboration with teachers and school administration concerning student issues. Individual and/or small group counseling of students with academic, behavioral and personal/social concerns. Assists students in developing a plan for achieving educational, behavioral and personal/social goals. Collaborate with administration, faculty, and parents to identify and support educational needs; including the establishment of a Student Support Plan when necessary. Implements a comprehensive school counseling program by teaching classroom guidance lessons to classes. Assist with TerraNova tests; dates, schedules, materials and accommodation groups for testing. Confers with classroom teachers, administration, support staff, parents and community agencies regarding students and their needs. Follows the guidelines of the national, state and district standards for professional school counselors. Adheres to ethical and legal professional standards. Performs other related duties, as required.
