The Guidance Counselor should be allocating 80% of their time working directly with students. This includes but is not limited to: Provide academic and career advisement for students at no less than 2.5 hours of individualized advisement per student per year Attend and participate in Discipline Team meetings to include transcript and grad check review Schedule and facilitate Parent/Teacher Conferences Attend and participate in ESE, LEP, and 504 meetings as needed Attend and participate in MTSS meetings and interventions Attend and participate in STAT meetings and interventions Participate in ongoing professional development, both school based and district Participate, prepare and support classroom guidance activities (Data Chats, CTE presentations, Bright Futures, etc.) Update and maintain Cohort Sheets for all grade levels Assist in student registration Organize and facilitate middle school registration for incoming 9th graders Responsible for organizing senior exit procedures and meetings to clear seniors for graduation Complete middle school visits as scheduled Organize and facilitate course registration for current students Data Collection/reporting; assist with data corrections for FTE and student accountability Develop and monitor Postsecondary Plans for all students in collaboration with each student and family Student Scheduling for all students Support College and Career Center Initiatives Community Service hours and forms validation Maintain the highest level of college DE communication with VCC, UCF, and UF Maintain the highest level of career DE communication with Orange Technical College Textbook Vouchers for DE Grade level meetings with students (3 times a year) Organize and order Diplomas for graduating seniors Organize and facilitate Bright Futures (Errors, reports, advertising deadlines, communication to students) Organize and facilitate Me and My Community Events Organize and facilitate AP Scholar Recognition Event Organize and facilitate Disney Dreamer and Doer Organize and facilitate GEN WOW conference participation Advise and support NAIA and NCAA clearinghouse processes Assist National Merit Semifinalist students with application submission Organize and facilitate Talented 20 Meetings Organize, facilitate, and effectively communicate Open House event during preplanning Participate in IB and VPA Magnet Open House Events Participate in Parent/Student Forum Events Participate in UHS’s Graduation Ceremony Candidates must hold a valid Florida Teaching Certificate or Statement of Eligibility and be certified in Guidance. Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree from an accredited institution and have completed a guidance internship within a school setting.
