Full Job Description Description:

Orangewood Christian School seeks an experienced and passionate Academic and College Advisor. The main responsibility for this role is partnering with students and parents to inform their decisions regarding educational goals and assisting in the college application process and to help support and encourage students who may be experiencing struggles academically. The Academic and College Advisor is a position requiring a calling to use God-given talents to further the Kingdom of God. The Academic and College Advisor is expected to be a minister to the OCS community through actions, speech, attitude, and prayer, as they point students to Christ.

Essential Function:

? Advise students in the development of an educational plan. ? Provide consistent guidance and support while working closely with students and parents to facilitate an individualized college counseling experience. ? Audit, monitor, and evaluate individual student academic progress. ? Facilitate college admission and financial aid workshops for students and parents. ? Track and report key student performance indicators to administration. ? Support and facilitate dual enrollment programs with local colleges as appropriate.

Have the spiritual maturity, academic ability, and personal leadership qualities to equip students to transform the world for Christ and His kingdom.

Maintain a personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, good taste, and agreement with school policy. 5. Requirements:
Education Requirement:

Master’s Degree in School Counseling or related educational field preferred. Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree and relevant experience considered.

Holds or is in the process of earning a Florida Educator Certificate in School Counseling or other valid FLDOE certification
