ESE Contact Job Description Position Summary:

The ESE Contact is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Exceptional Student Education (ESE) at Palm Beach School for Autism. This role requires a strong understanding of ESE regulations and procedures, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills. The ESE Contact will collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, parents, and district personnel to ensure that all students with disabilities receive appropriate and effective educational services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain ESE Records:

Manage and protect the confidentiality of all ESE student files.

IEP Development:

Facilitate regular IEP team meetings to develop and implement high-quality Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on accurate and current student data.

IEP Compliance:

Ensure all IEPs are developed in compliance with state and federal regulations, setting ambitious goals for student success.

Student Intake and Placement:

Conduct intake and placement meetings with families of new students, gathering necessary information and determining appropriate educational services.

IEP Review:

Review drafted IEPs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness of goals.

District Communication:

Attend mandatory district ESE Contact meetings and communicate relevant information to the Principal and teachers.

Resource Teacher Collaboration:

Maintain regular communication with assigned Area and/or District Resource Teachers to address questions, concerns, and ensure accurate student information.

Data Management:

Assist the Principal in maintaining accurate and up-to-date information in the district mainframe.

IEP Team Meetings:

Facilitate additional IEP team meetings as needed, including reevaluation, eligibility/ineligibility, and parent/teacher conferences.

Parent Rights:

Uphold all rights of parents/guardians and ensure accurate documentation of all meetings.

Teacher Support:

Prepare teachers to effectively communicate student progress to parents/guardians based on IEP data.

Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of ESE regulations and procedures Experience in developing and implementing IEPs Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain confidentiality Proficiency in using student information systems

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field Experience working with students with disabilities
