Job Description
JOBSUMMARY
The primary responsibilities of the Student Success Coach include assisting students withholistic student success, academic advising, assisting with the orientation process; and participating in campus wide retention and graduation efforts.
MAJORDUTIES1.Advise students about degree requirements, course selection, class schedules and academic policies.2.Assists with and participates in all orientation, advising, and registration periods.3.Review academic transcripts with students to determine eligibility for transferring or graduation.4.Maintain student records and monitor academic progress and performance.5.Conduct academic intervention meetings with students and discuss plans for grade improvement6.Engage students individually and/or through small groups by initiating and maintaining regular contact to build rapport with students to develop academic goals and academic action plans.7.Develop, organize, and lead student workshops and/or create and disseminate information via multiple media on various topics, including, but not limited to self-efficacy, academic and career goals, learning strategies, financial and time management, and organization.8.Work collaboratively with EGSC faculty and staff to refer students to appropriate campus resources when academic intervention or support are needed.9.Respond to current and prospective students’ calls, texts, and e-mails within a 24 to 48-hour timeframe when possible.10.Participate in professional development activities to remain current on policies, procedures, and best practices.11.Conduct classroom advising presentations during semester for Student Success and Learning Support classes.12.Teach up to 6 semester credit hours per academic year based on educational background.13.Perform other duties as assigned.
