School Counselor Evansdale Elementary School- DeKalb County School District 2914 Evans Woods Drive, Atlanta, GA 30340 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Counselor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development. This position involves working closely with students, parents, and faculty to create a nurturing environment that fosters personal growth and academic success. Duties Provide individual and group counseling to students to address academic, social, and emotional challenges. Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop strategies for supporting students with special education needs. Assist in the administration and interpretation of standardized testing to guide student academic planning. Offer behavioral health support by identifying at-risk students and implementing intervention strategies. Facilitate academic advising sessions to help students set goals and develop action plans for their education. Engage with parents and guardians to provide resources and support for their children’s educational journey. Promote cultural diversity counseling by addressing the unique needs of students from various backgrounds. Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress while ensuring confidentiality. Participate in classroom activities and school events to foster a positive school climate.
