FLSA:

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Degree in social work, psychology or education
2. Three years of successful experience in degree field

REPORTS TO

Special Education Director or Supervisor (JBL)
School Principal (school-based)

JOB GOAL

To provide interventions in the classroom and general school
environment in the area of behavior management to the school
personnel providing programming needs to students PK-12 grades.

TERM:

Nine or ten months

SALARY:

Nine or Ten Month Teacher Salary Schedule

Nine or Ten Month Student:

Pupil Appraisal Salary Schedule

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

I. To serve as liaison between parent, school, and the Mental Health Agency.
II. To provide direct services which may include individual/group counseling, social skills training, etc. (These services may be included in the IEP and may also be provided to general education students.)
III. To provide technical assistance services to regular classroom teachers, special education teachers, and other professional educators and parents.
IV. To participate in classroom activities with PK-12th grade students who have behavioral difficulties within the school setting; to modify behaviors and assist in implementing behavior management plans, crisis plans, transition plans and re-entry plans.
V. To review behavioral data in the classroom setting, develop behavior management plans, and progress monitor.
VI. To coordinate with school administration and Pupil Appraisal during crisis and/or When Lightning Strikes is initiated.
VII. To participate in Manifestation Determination Review in coordination with Pupil Appraisal.
VIII. To maintain adequate records of service provided.
IX. To work effectively with school personnel and Pupil Appraisal staff.
X. To consistently demonstrate self-direction.
XI. To submit accurate records and reports promptly.
XII. To exhibit professional ethics.
XIII.To foster open communication and positive relationship with school personnel.
XIV.To foster open communication and positive relationships with the community.
XV. To follow state and board policies.

IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE RESPONSIBILITES, JBL BEHAVIOR STRATEGISTS WILL

I. Serve as liaison between school and designated community agencies.
II. Perform additional duties assigned by the Director or Supervisor of Special Education.
III. Collaborate and coordinate with Pupil Appraisal regarding Risk Assessment assignments.

IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE DUTIES SCHOOL-BASED BEHAVIOR STRATEGISTS WILL

I. Provide classroom presentations designed to promote character building, socialization skills, and positive citizenship.
II. Perform additional duties assigned by the Principal.
III. To be an active participant in the SBLC (School Building Level Committee).
