Title:
SADD Advisor
FUNCTION
To develop and complete a standards-based curriculum for one secondary course offered at Bellingham High School, Memorial Middle School or to complete one elementary grade-level of standards-based curriculum within a subject area of the K-12 curriculum.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience providing services to students to prevent use, possession and distribution of tobacco, alcohol and illegal drugs preferred.
Such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate.
DUTIES:
Convene, coordinate and disseminate information on S.A.D.D. program activities according to the goals within the Safe and Drug Free Schools grant and district Wellness Curriculum standards and objectives.
Convene training sessions with small groups of students in Grades 6 through 12 to help students deal with peer pressures and negative influences so as not to make destructive decisions.
Increase student membership in S.A.D.D. as specified within the grant project description.
Secure services and training provided through state and local community health organizations such as the American Cancer Society, Blackstone Valley Tobacco Education Program, Milford Youth Center, Department of Public Health and the National S.A.D.D. organization.
Meet objectives administering and analyzing the annual PRIDE survey.
Assess and revise annually the objectives for S.A.D.D. goals and activities prepare the annual application for state and federal grant funding.
Inform the school and district administration on a quarterly basis regarding progress meeting S.A.D.D. program goals and objectives.
Provide a written year end review of activities undertaken to fulfill assigned duties, time involved for each activity and any recommendations for the future S.A.D.D. programs.
Adheres to the adopted policies of the Bellingham School Committee.
