REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL REPORTS TO
Principal
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides direct support services to individual students, small groups, and classrooms. Serves as the schools liaison for all guidance services, helping to coordinate programs and services in the best interest of students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
counsels students on an individual and group basisassists students by preparing them academically, socially and emotionally for their role in society assists students to develop the ability to make healthy decisions regarding personal, social, and academic choicesassists students with course selection and schedulingmonitors student progressidentifies pre-referral interventions for studentsassists in the development of 504 plans, as neededmaintains student records and protects their confidentialitycompletes guidance assessments assists in the development of Individual Student Success Plansparticipates in student evaluations and annual team meetings, attending teacher team meetings, as requestedpromotes communication with and serves as a liaison for students, parents/guardians, staff and outside support servicescollaborates with outside professional agencies and community resourcesmakes referrals for personal and educational support files mandated reportseducates and promotes compliance with the anti-harassment policymeets with building principal and staff to interpret test results from MCAS and other school assessmentsworks collaboratively with building administrators, regular and special education personnel for the purpose of servicing students needsattends selected school functions as well as department meetings, as requestedperforms other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
