Position Overview:
The Sanborn Regional School District is seeking a dynamic and experienced School Counseling Director to lead and coordinate the comprehensive school counseling program for grades 612 across Sanborn Regional Middle and High Schools. The Director will work as part of the Principals Leadership Team to develop, implement, and support a student-centered counseling program that fosters academic achievement, college and career readiness, and personal/social development. This position provides leadership to the counseling staff and serves as a key liaison among students, families, staff, community partners, and postsecondary institutions.

Supervisor-PrincipalSupervises-6-12 School CounselorsPerformance ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Program Coordination-Oversee the implementation of a comprehensive, developmental school counseling program aligned with national and state standards
- Lead the district-wide Counseling Professional Learning Community (PLC) to ensure alignment of best practices, ongoing professional development, and program improvement
- Support the K-5 counseling teams, ensuring coordination of services across grades K12
- Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and staff to support Multi-Tiered System of Supports for Behavior (MTSS-B) and social-emotional learning initiatives.
College and Career Readiness-Organize and manage all college and career planning activities including college fairs, financial aid nights, career panels, and workshops
- Coordinate NCAA eligibility certification and assist student-athletes with compliance
- Provide guidance on dual enrollment and Early College programs, managing partnerships with Northern Essex Community College, Southern New Hampshire University, and the Community College System of New Hampshire
- Administer credit recovery and alternative learning programs such as VLACS.Testing and Assessments-Coordinate all district and state assessments at the middle and high school levels, including PSAT, SAT, NHSAS, and ASVAB
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of testing data to state and district stakeholders.
Student Services and Support-Provide direct support and guidance to students on academic planning, career exploration, and personal development
- Develop and manage systems for identifying and supporting at-risk students, including those in need of credit recovery
- Facilitate referrals and collaboration with outside mental health and social service agencies to ensure wraparound support for students and families
- Oversee the district Section 504 program and implementation of student plans.
School Partnerships and Extended Learning Opportunities (ELOs
- Support students in accessing Extended Learning Opportunities (ELOs) through community partnerships
- Work with local businesses and organizations to develop internships and other experiential learning opportunities.
Senior Activities and Graduation-Oversee and coordinate senior-related events, including senior week activities, awards ceremonies, and graduation
- Support seniors with postsecondary planning and transition services.
Administrative Responsibilities-Serve as a key member of the Principals Leadership Team to support school improvement planning and student success
- Prepare, monitor, and manage the school counseling department budget in collaboration with the building principals
- Collect and analyze program data to evaluate the effectiveness of counseling services and inform decision-making
- Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines related to school counseling services.
