We are seeking a motivated and energetic person to join our team of educators. We are preschool through grade five with approximately 120 students. We have a strong focus on community and support, clear mission and values, a diverse student body, and a Christ-centered focus.

Responsibilities:

• Provide counseling services to students in a school setting
• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions
• Assist students in developing academic goals
• Address social, emotional, and behavioral issues affecting student well-being
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student success
• Implement strategies to promote positive mental health and well-being
• Provide crisis intervention and support as needed
• Advocate for students’ needs and rights within the school system
• Help students attain an optimum level of personal and social adjustment
• Assist in a continuous program of student orientation.
• Assist in making recommendations for school curriculum and instructional practices.

Qualifications:

• Certification or licensure as a School Counselor
• Experience working with children in an educational or counseling setting
• Knowledge of child welfare and child protective services
• Strong understanding of social work principles and practices
• Ability to address cultural diversity and provide culturally sensitive counseling
