185 Days. Salary determined by schedule set by the Board.

Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Principal.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The job of Elementary Achievement & Behavior Interventionist was established for the purposes of effecting positive behavioral change in students, provide behavior interventions for identified students, support appropriate social and academic behavior, and increase social and academic success of students. Responsible for monitoring student conduct, reinforcing positive expectations, assisting with student academic assignments, and maintaining student records. Also responsible for mentoring students, providing a positive role model, tutoring and providing academic assistance to ensure the student progresses in grade level standards.
EDUCATION
Completion of high school/GED. Two-year college degree, preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Experience working with primary/elementary school students, preferred.
LICENCES / CERTIFICATIONS
College courses or appropriate score on the ACT WorkKeys assessment to meet
Highly Qualified requirement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Acts as a mentor, promoting positive behavior and academic success.
Establish rapport with students to motivate pupils in developing positive behavior, provide strategies for developing character and knowledge to ens ure a safe orderly environment.
Assist students with regular classroom assignments, provide individualized academic assistance, and supervise the completion of assignments provided by the instructors while helping students establish appropriate behavior patterns.
Maintain constant monitoring with students unless relieved by appropriate school personnel, and supervise students’ restrooms and lunch breaks.
Maintain constant communication with regular classroom teacher to ensure students are completing assignments, understanding concepts, and progressing appropriately.
Maintain records of attendance and report to authorized school personnel.
Focus on intervention planning for positive behavior development, academic engagement and achievement.
Maintain high standards of student conduct and academic engagement, and enforce discipline as required, abiding by the rights of students within the confines of Board policy.
Assume responsibilities determined by administrators when not assigned to class duty.
Performs other duties and responsibilities related to academic intervention as assigned by supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; Knowledge of general office procedures and protocols; Skills and ability to work with SmartBoard, Microsoft Office, and Outlook; Ability to operate basic office equipment; Ability to maintain a professional, positive attitude with students, parents and staff; Good organizational and planning skills; Knowledge and ability to understand and communicate effectively with students of various ages; Ability to maintain accurate records; Ability to maintain confidentiality.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USAGE
Use computers for data entry, word processing, spreadsheets, or Power School.
