The Role The School Counselor is a relational and strategic leader, responsible for supporting students socially and emotionally to be successful at school. With a keen eye on data, the School Counselor will collaborate with school leaders and the Student Support Team to monitor progress, identify areas of need, and develop targeted intervention plans. At Meeting Street Schools, we believe that supporting the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally—is essential to student success. Core Responsibilities:
Training and Implementation Oversight:
Provide relevant professional development and coaching designed to support the social-emotional development of students.
Data-driven Assessments and Progress Monitoring:
Use data to identify areas of need at the school, grade, and individual student level. Create improvement plans based on behavior, attendance, and academic data. Facilitate the assessments and implement actionable insights from results.
Crisis Response:
Serve on the Crisis Response Team and the de-escalation team to support students and families in challenging situations.
External Partnership Management:
Connect students and families with community resources and supports based on identified needs in conjunction with the Student Support Manager.
MTSS Team Member:
Coordinate and actively participate in the school’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).

Educational Background & Experience:
A master’s degree in School Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, including elementary or special education A minimum of two years of licensed experience in student services, social services, or a related position Experience in a fast-paced, data-driven educational setting preferred
