Job Summary The essential function of the position within the organization is to plan, direct, and implement school programs and professional development for Professional School Counselors and to be a support for Professional School Counselors within the MNPS quadrant structure. The position is responsible for professional development for counselors; keeping counselors abreast of district policies and practices; and, serving as coordinator of special situations in which counselors from other schools may need to assist in the providing of services at a school due to an extraordinary circumstance. The position develops and implements programs within organizational policies and reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and reports. What you will do Ensures quadrant and school level implementation of the Tennessee Model for Comprehensive School Counseling. Develop and coordinate professional development activities, programs, and institutes/conferences for school counselors, administrators, and others as needed to ensure that consistent training and technical assistance is being provided to meet the needs of school counselors, school administrators and other school staff throughout the quadrant. Manage the implementation of a school counselor accountability metrics aligned to school improvement plan goals, current Federal and State laws, and Board policies. Consult with parents, teachers, school social workers, school psychologists, community resource agencies and other department personnel to identify appropriate interventions for students to increase academic achievement, school attendance and positive behavior supports. Coordinate and assure the provision of technical assistance to school administrators relative to improvement of school counseling programs and performance of school counselors within their assigned quadrant. Work with other district departments, business partners and community organizations as needed to further enhance educational opportunities for all students. Assist school administrators in the evaluation of school counselors using the TEAM school services personnel evaluation rubric. Analyze quadrant and school level data for improvement of comprehensive school counseling programs in conjunction with alignment of national and state curriculum standards. $106,471.27 Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
