Job Description Summary:

Under the supervision of the Clinical Manager and at the direction of the school principal, the School Based Non-Licensed Clinician is responsible for offering an array of therapeutic services for the children and adolescents in the school(s) to which he or she is assigned. These responsibilities include but are not limited to individual and group counseling, school climate support, trauma-informed care and education, teacher support, and referrals to additional and appropriate services from the Agency. These responsibilities also include working directly with Pathways therapists, child and adolescent programs, case managers, and medication providers as needed. The School-Based Non-Licensed Clinician arranges weekly schedule in coordination with Clinical Manager and School Principal to the equivalent of eight hours per day, five days per week during the academic school year. Incumbents are subject to on call by the Agency and School outside of the academic year as designated by the needs of the Agency and School.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Provides client and family education, support, and care in gender

    Follows HIPAA guidelines and maintains the highest level of confidentiality at all times when dealing with client information
    Serves the children, adolescents, and families at the school or schools assigned
    Offers effective outpatient intervention and/or therapeutic services for any student identified by the clinician, the school, or the student/family and as authorized by the parent/guardian
    Completes intakes and makes referrals from the school and in conjunction with the family for any additional services needed including but not limited to Agency-based individual therapy, medication evaluation and management, group therapy, and case management
    Conducts in-services, trainings, and consultations for faculty and staff as needed
    Provides coordination and follow-up monitoring of services rendered to the client and family
    Completes all appropriate documentation in a timely manner
    Provides reporting of work activity to Clinical Manager and School Principal as requested
    Collaborates effectively with School and Agency personnel, parents, therapists, physicians, and case managers
    Participates in staffing or supervision as scheduled, and displays evidence of the value of lifelong learning as related to best practices in client care
    Other activities or responsibilities as needed per supervisor or agency
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:

Master’s degree required
Master’s in social work, counseling, or psychology preferred
Master’s in other disciplines must be accompanied by at least 2 years of service to vulnerable and resilient children and youth

LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION

Any additional certification or training as requested by school, supervisor, or agency
Emergency behavior management training within 90 day orientation period and maintained throughout employment.

EXPERIENCE

Employment experience with vulnerable and resilient populations preferred
Employment experience with children and youth in individual and group settings preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Professional written, verbal, and nonverbal communication
Demonstrates ability to set priorities for tasks, to work effectively under minimal supervision, exceptionally organized, described by others as a self-starter, reliable, dependable, and motivated
Demonstrates eagerness and ease in learning and implanting new technologies and behavioral interventions
Demonstrates an understanding of adverse childhood experiences, their potential effect on the health and well-being of children and adolescents, and utilizes best practices to offer trauma-sensitive and trauma-informed care
