Grant – Career Readiness Instructor (RPED) Grant
Salary Schedule:
L1 RPED Grant- Funded. ($39,520) Continued employment is contingent upon grant funding. This is a non-tenure track position Non Probationary Status cannot be obtained. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties & Responsibilities:
In addition to adhering to the general guidelines as specified by the Faculty/Staff Handbook, the Title III Grant, US Department of Education, Title III Project Director, Dean of Students, the President, and Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees, responsibilities will include the following:
- Assist with the development of lessons on career readiness, including job search strategies, workplace ethics, and soft skills.
- Assist students in creating resumes, cover letters, and professional portfolios
- Support students from enrollment through graduation.
- Conduct mock interviews and provide feedback on interviewing techniques.
- Assist with time management, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills workshops.
- Guide students in career exploration, goal setting, and workforce expectations.
- Create a database of local internships and job opportunities.
- Assess student progress and provide individualized support when needed.
- Resolve problems by clarifying issues; researching and exploring answers and alternative solutions; implementing solutions; escalating unresolved problems.
- Stay current on industry trends, employer expectations, and workforce development initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of student participation and oues.
- Work collaboratively with other departments and services across the college to understand processes, systems, and services and to resolve student issues,
- Work closely with the Job Placement Coordinator, Grant Coordinator and Project Director.
- Closely track students’ progress, throughmunication and analytics, for each academic term to ensure class attendance and academic progress.
- Complete purchase orders
- Track student graduation and job placement data for annual reports.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Title III Project Director, the Associate Dean of Students, the Dean of Students and the President.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of an Associate degree in Career and Technical Education, Business, Human Resources, Education or related field.
- Demonstrated experience working with first-generation, low-ie students.
- Effective/excellent oral and writtenmunication skills.
- The ability to effectively plan andanize work.
- Kledge of secondary and higher educationanizational structure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree.
- An understanding of and amitment to the philosophy and mission of the Alabama Community College System.
- Effective written and oralmunication skills.
- Ability toanize and work independently.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
