Full Job Description Job Requirements Summary:
This position coordinates the EPIC program, which provides parenting classes in Jefferson and Shelby Counties. The Program Coordinator is responsible for seeking ways to grow and strengthen the EPIC program and its reach, ensuring that we meet or exceed annual goals. He/she will manage outreach to communities/ agencies to recruit program participants; teach as many as four concurrent classes; manage contractors; maintain and prepare class materials; maintain records of group participants; and prepare reports for funding sources.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology, Human and Child Development, Counseling, Sociology or related field from an accredited college or university
Minimum Work Experience:
One year
Required Licenses/Certifications:
Licensed or license eligible, if applicable to degree. Valid Alabama driver license and auto insurance minimum liability 100/300.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Excellent written and oral communication skills; understanding of children, parenting, basic life skills and ability to teach them to others; experience with outcomes development, tracking, and achievement and an orientation toward quality improvement; ability to motivate clients and assist them in changing behaviors; knowledge of community resources; ability to work well with other team members; ability to demonstrate cultural and socioeconomic proficiency. Understanding of trauma responsive care.
Required Internal Certification/Trainings:
Bi-annual TB skin test/medical report; background clearances; Active Parenting trainer training; Children’s Trust Fund of Alabama required training; other program-specific training List any physical requirements: Travel, minimal overnight. Light lifting may be required.
