Position Summary:
The Regional Senior PFS Specialist serves as a key support resource to the Director of Patient Financial Services, providing high-level assistance across the organization in onboarding, training, and ongoing operational support for Patient Financial Services (PFS). This hybrid position offers both remote and onsite support to facilities, with a focus on those newly integrated into the organization and transitioning to our EHR system, Smartcare.
The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience with PFS workflows, extensive knowledge of Smartcare, and the ability to flex between virtual support and onsite assistance as facility needs arise.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with the Corporate PFS Director to support the onboarding and training of facility-based PFS teams during acquisitions and EHR transitions.
Serve as a subject matter expert in Smartcare, particularly regarding registration, insurance verification, patient estimations, authorizations, and payment collection workflows.
Provide virtual support to facilities in need of additional assistance, helping to complete daily PFS tasks remotely.
Travel up to 25% to provide onsite PFS support during integrations, staff shortages, or other special projects.
Act as a liaison between corporate PFS and facility-level teams to ensure consistent workflows and adherence to best practices.
Assist in developing, maintaining, and delivering training materials and SOPs related to PFS responsibilities.
Support system testing and provide feedback related to Smartcare enhancements or updates.
Track support activities and report progress or challenges to the Director of Corporate PFS.
Promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across the PFS function.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Patient Financial Services or a related healthcare administrative role.
Strong working knowledge of Smartcare EHR is required.
Demonstrated experience in training, onboarding, or supporting staff across multiple locations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment settings.
Prior involvement in EHR transitions or facility integration processes.
Bilingual skills are a plus.
