Position Summary
The STEAM Grant Coordinator will report to the Director of Technical Education. The STEAM Grant Coordinator is responsible for the recruiting and promoting the Technical Division’s programs and work-based learning programs as well as representing and promoting career awareness programs throughout the College’s service area. In addition, the employee assists Technical Division faculty with student retention and placement of graduates. The STEAM Grant Coordinator also develops and nurtures relationships with local high school representatives and with business, industry, andmunity leaders. The responsibilities of this position will include, but not be limited to: career awareness initiatives, student recruitment, student retention, and student placement for the Technical Division Programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Primary coordination of all

STEAM/MMLI

Initiatives and Technical Division Summer Initiatives.
Lead the coordination and host STEAM/Technical skills camps for potential studentsi.e.

STEAMcamps,ManufacturingDay,TechnicalStampede,OpenHouse, etc.
Organize and conduct industry connection events or career day activities for STEAM, MMLI, and technical division students.
Assist students, counselors and advisors with career assessment and STEAM Career exploration activities.
Primary coordinator ofpany tours and CIM visits for the purposes of recruiting STEAM/Technical Division students for education, full-time employment and internships.
Schedule and host industry ,and college tours for STEAM/Technical Division students.
Assist with Technical Education Dual Enrollment in STEAM-related/Technical Programs.
Tracking of recruiting activities and events for STEAM students including student contact information.
Promotion of SUSCC STEAM-related/Technical scholarship opportunities with high school counselors/career coaches, students and parents.
Develop and nurture relationships with local high school representatives.
Travel to service area schools and training sessions as required.
Evaluate program oues and develop a plan for necessary improvements.
Maintain accurate records and provide reports as directed by the Director of Technical Education.
Assist in implementing college policies, objectives, and functions in accordance with College philosophy and procedures.
Maintain appropriate workhours.
Ad to prescribed policies of the College and the Alabama Community College System.
Perform other professional duties as assigned by the President, Dean of Technical Education and Workforce Development or the Director of Technical Education Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited Institution
2 years of experience working with Technical Programs
2 years of experience working with STEAM Camps Application Procedures/Additional Information
