Summary of Job Duties:
The Floor Care Supervisor is responsible for assisting with daily coordinator tasks, team training, and supervising a small-floor care specialist team. This position will also be responsible for stripping, waxing, sealing floors, cleaning carpet and general cleaning of areas in and around office buildings, classrooms, lecture halls, conference rooms, auditoriums, building common areas, and other areas on campus as required. This position will be responsible for using a carpet extractor and a floor buffer. This position will also be responsible for snow/ice removal during winter months. Other duties as assigned. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma At least one year of experience with industrial floor care equipment or related experience At least one year of experience in a supervisory role
Valid Driver’s License Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with training employees
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of basic cleaning techniques Knowledge of cleaning equipment operation and maintenance Ability to follow instructions and perform repetitive manual work Ability to use cleansers and other agents to clean floors and furniture Ability to use housekeeping cleaning supplies and equipment Ability to work independently without close supervision Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions Ability to perform multiple tasks and to prioritize assignments Ability to perform repetitive manual work Ability to do required lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
