This position involves working closely with clients to develop personalized recovery plans, provide guidance, and foster a supportive environment that encourages growth and resilience. The Recovery Specialist will utilize various therapeutic techniques and interventions to empower clients in achieving their recovery goals. Responsibilities Conduct assessments to identify clients’ needs and develop tailored recovery plans. Provide one-on-one support and counseling to participants, utilizing motivational interviewing techniques. Facilitate group sessions focused on skill-building, coping strategies, and peer support. Implement crisis management and intervention strategies as needed to ensure client safety. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers and mental health professionals, to coordinate care. Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and treatment outcomes in compliance with organizational policies. Mentor clients by sharing personal experiences and providing guidance throughout their recovery journey. Stay informed about community resources and support services available for clients. Qualifications High School Diploma/ GED. Lived experience as a person with SUD or a family member of someone with SUD. Minimum of two years of recovery as it relates to SAMHSA’s working definition of recovery which defines recovery as a process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live self-directed lives, and strive to reach their full potential. Valid Driver’s License and/or reliable transportation to and from work-related duties. Must obtain Certification for Florida Recovery Peer Specialist within 1 year of hire date.
