You will ensure these mentoring relationships are meaningful, impactful, and well-supported , helping students navigate their transition from high school into their next chapter. Additionally, you will provide ongoing guidance and resources to students after graduation , ensuring they have continued support as they pursue higher education, trade programs, or enter the workforce. Your role is essential in ensuring that mentorship extends beyond high school, offering students the necessary tools and connections to succeed in their post-graduation journey. The program provides access to scholarship opportunities and supports post-secondary workforce development.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilitate career, college, and life readiness programming within a corporate setting for high school students and their mentors. Support and track progress of each mentor-mentee relationship through monthly check-ins and case management in Matchforce (Salesforce) . Coordinate logistics for mentoring sessions, including arranging transportation and meals. Build strong, trusting relationships with students, mentors, and corporate and school partners. Concentration on building constructive and satisfying relationships between children and volunteers. Ensure a high-level of proficiency and skill in applying child safety and risk management knowledge, policies, and procedures throughout all aspects of job function. Conduct individual orientations, interviews, and completion of any other enrollment processes. Assess and refer families for alternative or additional services as needed. Complete reference checks as necessary to gain additional data to complete the assessment process. Review all enrollment information and assessments and make recommendations for participation in the program contributing to successful match relationships. Effectively align volunteer interests and qualifications with service options of agency, determine matches, facilitate match meetings, provide support, assess training needs, and determine targeting goals. Consult with other service delivery staff and/or supervisor as appropriate to provide highest support level and collaboration to ensure smooth transition among functions. Develop, promote, and implement individual and group match activities to support ongoing volunteer involvement with the child and agency affiliation through individualized recognition, annual events, and reengagement strategies. Effectively utilize assessment tools to track match impact on youth development and conduct exit interviews at match closure. Maintain accurate and timely records for each match according to standards and utilize technology to report, synthesize and analyze data. Coordinate with partners to ensure the success of programs at schools, workplace, and community organization sites. Willingness to work occasional weekends or nights to accommodate client family schedules as well as agency wide fundraising and program activities, recruitment and additional events that support the mission of BBBS of Broward County. Travel Requirement is approximately 30% of work time (offsite school locations). Flexibility for attendance at agency events occasionally at night or weekend work. Work as a part of team, collaborate and be able to resolve conflicts professionally. Other duties as assigned.

Education Level:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred (education, social work, mental health counseling, public health, psychology, or other community strengthening related field is preferred). Equivalency reviewed.

Years of Related Work Experience:

Two years of related work experience in youth development programs, non-profit program services, case management, community client support or similar. Equivalency reviewed.

Skill Requirements:

Effective and efficient written and verbal communication skills. Active listening skills. Must have car, valid driver’s license, and meet state required automobile insurance minimums. Proficiency in technical areas such as

Microsoft Office:

Sharepoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, and Excel. Proficiency with CRMs, databases and technology (such as Matchforce/Salesforce and Dialpad) is desired. Excellent oral and written communication skills reflecting solid customer service both in-person, electronically and via the telephone. Ability to use time effectively, work independently, focus on details, adapt to shifting priorities, and position and promote opportunities. Strong presentation and facilitation skills to effectively lead discussions, promote the agency’s mission and vision, both internally and externally, and inspire action. Minimal physical requirements to include walking, standing, occasional lifting, sitting at workstation and supporting community activities and events.
