Description:
College Living Experience (CLE) in Davie, FL is seeking a part-time Career Development Instructor to support young adults in all aspects of their career journey through one-on-one instruction, small group workshops, and community-based career exploration outings. The ideal candidate has experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum or with similar learning differences, along with a background in job development or career coaching. In this role, you’ll help students build resumes, prepare for interviews, explore career interests, and connect with local employers for internships or job opportunities. Strong networking skills are essential, as is the ability to foster meaningful partnerships in the community. Candidates must be willing to transport students in company vehicles and must have held a valid driver’s license for at least one year. Availability on Tuesdays and Wednesdays is required. CLE is a comprehensive transitional support program for young adults diagnosed with Autism, AD/HD, and/or learning disabilities. Our students are working towards living independent adult lives and they wouldn’t be able to meet this goal without the support of individuals like you.

We operate in four different domains (academic, career development, social skills, and independent living), but we engage in regular communication, problem solving, brainstorming, and cross-curricular planning. We are dedicated to building an inclusive team that sustains a welcoming community for sharing our diverse perspectives and strengths. As a Career Development Instructor, you will: Reviewing career assessment results (such as the Greenwood Assessment) with students to identify strengths, interests, and areas for professional growth. Collaborating with students to develop clear, functional career goals, measure progress, and provide ongoing job coaching tailored to their needs. Working with students individually and in small group settings to foster confidence, independence, and readiness for the workplace. Supporting students enrolled in certificate programs or participating in community-based workshops. Assisting with the development of resumes and cover letters, job applications, and interview preparation using both traditional methods and digital tools. Writing daily meeting summary notes to track student interactions and progress. Building and maintaining a network of internship, volunteer, and job placement opportunities through active outreach to local and regional employers. Collaborating with fellow instructors, case managers, and program staff to ensure coordinated support and shared insight into each student’s journey. Adapting coaching strategies to align with individual learning styles, barriers to employment, and unique career interests. Engaging with community organizations, workforce partners, and businesses to strengthen employment pipelines and promote program visibility.
Additional Requirements:
Instructors must have held a valid driver’s license for at least one year and be willing to transport students in company vehicles.

Experience:
Bachelor’s degree, preferred Special education: 1 year (Preferred) career/job coaching: 1 year (Preferred)

Schedule:
Availability Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Business Hours; flexibility with occasional evenings and/or weekends is a plus Expected hours: 12 – 15 per week
