The Role:
The Employment Specialist III (Lead) is a senior-level role responsible for guiding the delivery of high-impact workforce services to participants while supporting junior Employment Specialists through mentorship, training, and quality assurance. This position works closely with leadership to ensure alignment with employer expectations, labor market trends, and funding requirements. The Lead Employment Specialist manages complex caseloads, spearheads employer partnerships, and plays a vital role in program performance and development.
Salary Range:
$50,000 – $60,000
Note:
Depending on the assigned programs in Miami-Dade County, this position could be required to pass a Level 2 Background Clearance. Access to correctional institutions may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the lead on complex, high-barrier participant cases and provide direct support to ensure successful placement and retention. Facilitate the onboarding, mentoring, and continued training of Employment Specialists to support professional growth and consistent service delivery. Develop and disseminate information to promote increased awareness of OIC of South Florida’s programs across community and employer networks. Plan, coordinate, and lead outreach, recruitment, job fairs, and hiring events in collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders. Place eligible participants into employment, on-the-job training (OJT), paid internships, registered apprenticeships, and work-based learning opportunities. Guide participants through career pathway development by conducting skills assessments, career coaching, and employment planning based on their KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities). Assist participants in assessing job readiness, preparing job applications, conducting mock interviews, and developing resumes tailored to employer expectations. Instruct and lead workshops and group presentations focused on job search strategies, workplace professionalism, and career advancement. Arrange and facilitate employer interviews based on job matching strategies; conduct post-interview coaching and debriefs. Conduct follow-up and retention services with both employers and participants to ensure employment sustainability and advancement. Actively identify, engage, and recruit employers to participate in hiring initiatives and build talent pipelines; maintain employer database. Monitor labor market trends and economic conditions to inform program design and service strategies. Support the coordination and facilitation of the Industry Advisory Committee , working closely with the Director of Employer Partnerships. Represent OIC at local and regional workforce events, advisory boards, and community partner meetings. Ensure accurate, timely data collection and reporting for grant compliance, audits, and performance evaluations. Contribute to continuous quality improvement by identifying service delivery gaps and recommending innovative solutions.
